To contribute to the increase in the economic growth of the Waukesha & Pewaukee area by active promotion and development of the area as a major destination for overnight stays for conventions, meetings, and visitor travel, by focusing on service, marketing and education.
OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS
The WPCVB (Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau) is an economic development organization which attracts overnight visitors in the convention, leisure and sports markets through sales, marketing and destination development.
Convention Sales:
The Bureaus Convention Sales Manager works closely with meeting planners in the corporate, association and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) market segments to host their next event in Waukesha & Pewaukee by offering numerous complimentary services such as: facility information, room availability, site inspections, secure room blocks, on-site opening ceremony needs, etc.
Sports Sales:
The Bureaus Sports Sales Manager works to inform area facilities the economic benefits of hosting a tournament, as well as, reaching out to tournament organizers to promote and bring tournaments to the area by offering numerous complimentary services such as: equipment storage, gathering room, group rate upgrades, early bird breakfast set-up, late check-out, etc.
WPCVB (Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau) employs five full-time employees and the support of several volunteers. The bureau is funded primarily though room tax dollars collected in the city of Waukesha and the city of Pewaukee.
