WAUKESHA & PEWAUKEE CVB AWARDED STATE TOURISM GRANT
Waukesha & Pewaukee, WI – The Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (WPCVB) was awarded a Brand Development Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to further increase economic growth through active promotion and development of the area as a major tourism destination. The WPCVB is an economic development organization which attracts overnight visitors in the convention, leisure and sports tournament markets through sales, marketing and destination development.
Through the Brand Development JEM Grant, the WPCVB will conduct a tourism brand study to become a more aggressive competitor in the current marketplace by unveiling a brand identity that increases awareness and interest of Waukesha & Pewaukee. Our goals for the tourism brand study are to: conclude a key component within our destination that draws visitors; to develop a distinct brand identity and unique brand strategy that provides differentiation within the tourism industry; as well as the ground work for the brand to further develop for years to come. The tourism brand study will begin in June 2011 with an anticipated campaign launch in first quarter 2012.
The tourism brand study will consist of a variety of research components such as: focus groups, targeted surveys, geographical data tracking, in-market street intercepts and an experiential in-market tour just to name a few. “This extensive research will assist the Waukesha & Pewaukee area to not only prosper, but to grow as a competitive tourism destination in Wisconsin and within the Midwest for years to come” – Tiffany Zamora, Marketing Manager – Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau.
