Student-Athletes Recognized With Outstanding Athlete Award
Waukesha, WI – Two Waukesha South High School athletes have been selected as the winter recipients of the Outstanding Athlete Award presented by the Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitor Bureau Sports Committee.  Katy Allen and Tyler Vermey were chosen from an impressive list of nominees for the Winter Sports Award.  Each was presented their awards by Sports Committee Chair, Lori Fabian, at their Athlete Award Recognition ceremony on Wednesday evening.

Local Student - Athletes Recognized With Outstanding Athlete Award
Waukesha, WI – Two area high school athletes have been selected as the inaugural recipients of the Outstanding Athlete Award presented by the Waukesha & Pewaukee Sports Committee and sponsored by Geiger Awards and Apparel. Kelly Johnson (tennis), a senior from Waukesha South High School, and Derek Watt (football), a senior from Pewaukee High School, were chosen from an impressive list of nominees for the Fall Sports Award. Each have been presented their awards by Sports Committee officials at their respective High Schools.

Outstanding Athlete Award Will Recognize High School Students
Waukesha, WI – Local high school athletes now have another opportunity to be recognized for their achievements with the creation of the Outstanding Athlete Award presented by the Waukesha & Pewaukee Sports Committee and sponsored by Geiger Awards and Apparel. In 2008, the Sports Committee was formed by the Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau in an effort to promote sporting events, tournaments, and tourism. Committee members represent a variety of local entities, including parks and recreation departments, the YMCA, hotls and private businesses.

Waukesha, WI – Miniature golf enthusiasts from around the country recently gathered in Waukesha for the
Prairieville Park Open held on July 24, 2010. The annual tournament is a popular event among mini-golf
competitors and top finishers earn up to $1,000 in prize money. In addition, top finishers qualify to compete in
The Masters Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Bill and Linda Gustafson, owners of Prairieville
Park, have hosted this event since 2004 and welcome local golfers to compete against the pros.

State's Best Trap Shooters Return To Waukesha
Waukesha, WI – The Wisconsin Trapshooters Association welcomes trap shooters from around the region. Events will take place July 13-18, 2010 at the Waukesha Gun Club, located at N22 W23170 Watertown Road just west of Highway F.  Many Competitors have been visiting Waukesha for more than 50 years to compete in the multi-day tournament.  The Waukesha Gun Club is the largest shotgun only club in Wisconsin.

Waukesha, WI – The Waukesha & Pewaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau (WPCVB) is gearing up to host the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association’s (NCTTA) National Championships April 9- 11. Skilled table tennis players from all over the US are looking forward to this championship tournament. The NCTTA Championships will include three days of competition for males and females competing for singles, doubles and team titles with over 250 athletes from 30 colleges and universities nationwide.
